We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join a growing team in Cicero, Illinois. This is a contract position offering a long-term opportunity to work in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting practices and a collaborative approach to contribute to the company’s success.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review corporate tax returns with accuracy and compliance.
• Manage sales tax filings and ensure timely submissions.
• Record and analyze journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure consistency.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support accounting processes and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for management.
• Maintain compliance with relevant tax regulations and industry standards.
• Provide support during audits by compiling necessary documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement effective solutions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related roles.
• Proficiency in corporate tax preparation and sales tax management.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger reconciliation.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Compensation

$26.13-$30.25 Hourly
