Sr. Finance Associate/ Senior Accountant

A private investment management firm is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to join its growing finance team. This role is well-suited for a detail-oriented, driven professional looking to expand their expertise across fund accounting, management company accounting, and investment operations. The successful candidate will take on a hands-on role supporting cross-functional initiatives while ensuring accounting accuracy, regulatory compliance, and effective resource management in accordance with GAAP.

Reporting directly to senior finance leadership, this position will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and third-party administrators. The role blends technical accounting, operations, and project-based work, contributing to continuous improvement efforts and helping to advance firm-wide financial best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will review quarterly reporting and NAV packages from fund administrators, prepare valuation materials, and support presentations to the Valuation Committee. You will coordinate annual audit and tax processes—including K-1s and investor deliverables—and process wires for capital calls, management fees, and other fund-related expenses. You will also partner with external bookkeepers to maintain QuickBooks and Ramp, and prepare quarterly management reports. Additional responsibilities include managing accounts payable and reimbursements, monitoring liquidity, supporting deal execution and investment closings, and assisting with ongoing portfolio monitoring. You will also participate in system upgrades, automation initiatives, and cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing controls and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Requirements

·      CPA license or active CPA progression with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

·      1–3+ years of experience in financial services tax or fund/management company accounting

·      Strong understanding of fund structures, K-1s, and GAAP

·      Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and finance operations systems (Ramp preferred)
