Compensation: $73 to $80 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a mission-driven non-profit organization in Denver, Colorado. This role is ideal for someone in finance who enjoys working across core accounting functions while supporting accurate and timely financial operations. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative team environment with strong employee benefits.


Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to support smooth day-to-day financial operations.

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Perform account, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial records remain complete and reliable.

• Lead or support month-end close activities, including reviewing transactions and resolving discrepancies on schedule.

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by monitoring entries and assisting with financial reporting needs.

• Use Excel to analyze accounting data, organize supporting schedules, and improve reporting efficiency.

• Assist with grant-related or non-profit accounting processes when applicable, including tracking restricted funds and related documentation.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of accounting experience in a senior-level or progressively responsible role.

• Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.

• Proven ability to complete account reconciliations and bank reconciliations accurately and on time.

• Experience participating in or overseeing month-end close processes.

• Intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas, reconciliations, and financial schedules.

• Strong attention to detail and a consistent approach to maintaining accurate financial records.

• Non-profit or grant accounting experience is preferred but not required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.


Compensation

$73,000.00-$80,000.00 Yearly
