A well-established and highly regarded Seattle litigation firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Defense Attorney with 2–5 years of experience to join its growing practice. This firm is known for its strong trial tradition and represents a diverse client base that includes public entities, municipalities, businesses, insurers, and professionals in complex litigation matters. Attorneys enjoy hands-on litigation experience, meaningful client contact, and the opportunity to develop their practice alongside accomplished litigators.

Responsibilities
- Manage civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.
- Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
- Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial proceedings.
- Communicate directly with clients, insurance representatives, and public entity stakeholders.
- Work closely with shareholders and senior attorneys on complex litigation matters.
- Maintain accurate case management and meet litigation deadlines.

Qualifications:
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active Washington State Bar membership, or ability to obtain admission promptly.
- 2–5 years of civil litigation experience.
- Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to independently manage a caseload while collaborating with a litigation team.
- Trial preparation or courtroom experience is preferred.
- Insurance defense or public entity defense experience is a plus.
Compensation
