Responsibilities

Within the FP&A group, NWN is seeking a Senior Director of FP&A to support key aspects of the company’s FP&A processes and support strategic decision-making within our leadership team. This includes coordinating and developing the company’s annual budget and quarterly operational targets, periodic forecasts, and monthly reporting. This is a critical role for the company, which will drive incremental improvements in existing processes, as well as develop new actionable reporting and analysis to assist our leadership team in driving further shareholder value through growth in profitability and efficiency.

As part of the FP&A Team, this role will closely interact with an existing team of five finance professionals and is expected to manage one or more of the existing team members. The role will also interact with leaders across the business including sales, offerings, and customer success. Moreover, the position will serve as a business partner to at least one of the company’s divisional teams (e.g., our Customer Success / Services team) to provide the leadership team with insight into their performance and targeted opportunities drive further growth in profitability.

Key responsibilities:

  • Direct the financial planning and analysis function to monitor business performance and develop investment, budgeting, and financial strategies
  • Coordinate financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, and reporting efforts to drive efficient financial operations and provide insights for executive decision-making
  • Drive initiatives to continuously improve FP&A processes and build analytics for improved insight into business trends
  • Develop policies and repeatable procedures for collecting and analyzing financial data to ensure accurate reporting and interpretation of financial metrics
  • Work closely with various internal departments to align financial strategies with business goals and ensure fiscal performance is monitored and communicated effectively
  • Manage a small team, providing them with coaching and guidance, and ensuring they maintain high quality and accurate deliverables
  • Assist with ad-hoc assignments and reporting requirements as they arise
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders
  • Be adaptable to a constantly evolving, changing, and challenging environment


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field Required
  • MBA or master’s degree Preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in FP&A or other strategic finance roles Required
  • Proven experience in FP&A at a large ($1bn+ revenue), complex, and high-growth organization
  • Experience in implementing tools and systems to build scalable FP&A processes and reduce the dependency on Microsoft Excel
  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with PowerBI and other tools is a plus
  • Experience in processing large data and deriving meaningful insights
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, service-oriented, solutions-oriented
  • Ability to deliver in fast paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both in written form and verbally
  • High level of self-motivation, multi-task and willingness to challenge the status quo

Remote: Job duties are performed from the employee’s home home or another approved remote location. Remote employees are expected to maintain productivity, communication, and availability during agreed-upon working hours, in alignment with company policies.
