Job Title: MAF Senior Network Engineer
Location: Scott AFB, Illinois
Responsibilities
Trace Systems is seeking a MAF Senior Network Engineer to provide Tier III analysis, design, and integration support for Mobility Air Forces requirements within EACN at Scott AFB. This position will evaluate new technologies and engineer the integration of new aircraft and communications capabilities. The project associated with this position is currently in the proposal stage.
- Provide network analysis and design services to engineer, evaluate, and recommend technologies that integrate MAF Operations requirements into EACN.
- Support Government engineers with overarching technical oversight of the EACN platform and MAF integration activities.
- Develop architectures, implementation approaches, test plans, configurations, and technical recommendations for new MAF capabilities.
- Prepare a Network Installation and Configuration Guide before changes are made to an operational system, network, or gateway.
- Coordinate integration of new aircraft, network transport, and communications capabilities with engineering, test, cybersecurity, and operations stakeholders.
- Validate changes in the SIL or approved test environment before operational deployment.
- Troubleshoot complex integration and performance issues and document approved baselines and changes.
In compliance with applicable state and local pay transparency requirements, the following compensation information is provided for this position. The base salary range represents the minimum and maximum compensation Trace reasonably expects to offer for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation within the range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, skills, and performance.
Salary Minimum: $92,000
Salary Maximum: $120,000
The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the Trace salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Qualifications
- Active, in-scope US Government issued Top Secret clearance (minimum); higher-level eligibility may be required based on assigned access.
- Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
- Candidates must meet the applicable DoD 8140 qualification requirements for the assigned work role. DoD 8140 Work Role(s): 441 Network Operations Specialist, Proficiency Level: Advanced; and may qualify through education, military training, certifications, or a combination thereof.
- Qualifying 8140 credentials include a Masters or Ph.D degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity or Data Science or Information Systems or Information Technology or Software Engineering or completion of relevant military communications or network training.
- Qualifying 8140 certifications may include SecurityX / CASP+, CCNA, CCNP Security, CCSP, GCED, GCIA, GCLD, GDSA, GFACT or other DoD 8140-approved certifications. Higher proficiency-level or equivalent DoD 8140-approved certifications applicable to the assigned work role may also be accepted.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
- Ability to work in a secure DoD environment and comply with applicable Air Force, installation, and program security requirements.
- 5+ years of senior network engineering experience supporting complex enterprise, airborne, or DoD communications environments.
- Current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification, or ability to obtain it within six months of employment.
- DoD-approved IA baseline certification commensurate with the position, or ability to obtain it within six months.
- Advanced experience with network architecture, Cisco routing and switching, integration, testing, and technical documentation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Mobility Air Forces, Air Mobility Command, airborne communications, aircraft integration, EACN, A2G2, or SATCOM.
- Experience with SIL testing, configuration management, cybersecurity compliance, or network automation.
- Prior military service or experience supporting Department of Defense or U.S. Air Force customers.
- Experience supporting mission-essential communications in distributed, multi-site environments.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, or a related field preferred.
