Staff Accountant
A retail and fashion company in Hollywood is seeking a Staff Accountant to provide immediate support within the accounting department during a critical transition period. This is an onsite, temporary position for 3 months with potential to extend. The Staff Accountant will assist with backlog cleanup and support day-to-day accounting operations.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who can hit the ground running, work with minimal training, and bring strong AP/AR experience in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Acumatica is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
- Review invoices and bill entries completed by the offshore AP support team
- Assist with prepaid expenses and recurring payments
- Track vendor activity and communicate with vendors as needed
- Set up new vendors and maintain vendor records
- Support weekly pay run preparation and recommendations
- Manage the accounting inbox
- Assist with project setup in the accounting system
- Help catch up and organize AP processes as the company moves toward AP automation
Accounts Receivable
- Manage collections efforts
- Prepare and issue invoices
- Handle cash application and payment posting
Additional Accounting Support
- Assist with manual accounting processes related to the company’s touring/venue operations
- Support accounting transition work as operations move from one company entity to another under the same ownership
- Assist with financial rework tied to bank account changes and intercompany transition activities
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation where applicable
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of hands-on AP/ AR and staff accountant-level experience. Acumatica experience is required. This is an onsite role in Hollywood with hours 9:30 - 6PM. Pay is based on experience, between $33-37/hr.
Qualifications:
• At least 2-3 years of practical experience supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.• Prior use of Acumatica is required, with the ability to navigate the system effectively without extensive training.
• Working knowledge of journal entries and general ledger activity within a fast-paced accounting environment.
• Proficiency in Excel for routine accounting analysis, tracking, and reconciliation tasks.
• Experience managing vendor communication, invoice review, collections, and cash application.
• Understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, or corporate tax return support is beneficial.
• Able to work in a hybrid schedule based in Hollywood, California, with in-office presence Monday through Thursday and remote work on Friday.
• Capable of handling a high-volume workload, catching up delayed processes, and adapting quickly in a changing environment.
