Collections Specialist

We are looking for a Collections Specialist to support account resolution efforts for a long-term contract opportunity based in Atlanta, Georgia. This position focuses on managing both commercial and consumer receivables, maintaining productive customer communication, and helping reduce outstanding balances through timely follow-up. The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of collection practices, billing coordination, and credit-related processes while delivering attentive service in every interaction.

Responsibilities:
• Contact commercial and consumer customers to resolve past-due balances and secure timely payment commitments.
• Review account activity, billing records, and payment history to identify issues affecting collections and recommend next steps.
• Maintain accurate documentation of collection efforts, customer conversations, disputes, and promised payment dates.
• Collaborate with internal partners to address invoice questions, reconcile account discrepancies, and support account resolution.
• Monitor aging reports and prioritize accounts requiring immediate follow-up to improve overall receivables performance.
• Apply established collection procedures while handling customer interactions with consistency and care.
• Escalate complex or high-risk accounts when needed and assist with ongoing process updates related to collection operations.

Qualifications:

• Experience handling collections for commercial accounts, consumer accounts, or both.
• Working knowledge of credit and collections practices, including account follow-up and payment recovery methods.
• Ability to interpret billing information, account records, and aging data accurately.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive customer conversations professionally.
• Organized approach to documenting account activity and tracking collection progress.
• Proficiency with standard business systems and tools used for collections and billing support.

Compensation

$25.65-$29.70 Hourly
