Fortinet Network Engineer
Responsibilities:
• Lead the planning, deployment, and ongoing support of network infrastructure across office, retail, and distribution environments.
• Administer Fortinet security and connectivity platforms, including FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiNAC, to maintain centralized control and secure access.
• Build and optimize resilient WAN and site-to-site connectivity designs that support consistent communication between multiple business locations.
• Support Cisco and Meraki networking solutions covering routing, switching, wireless, and SD-WAN capabilities across the enterprise.
• Track network health, analyze performance trends, and resolve connectivity issues before they create significant business disruption.
• Apply segmentation, firewall policies, and access controls that align with established security and compliance standards.
• Maintain core routing and switching configurations, including VLAN architecture, dynamic routing, and layer 2 redundancy features.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex network incidents and provide technical guidance to service desk staff and field technicians.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation such as topology diagrams, configuration records, and operational procedures.
• Contribute to infrastructure initiatives such as new site deployments, platform upgrades, and environment migrations, including after-hours support when needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or comparable relevant experience.• At least 5 years of experience in network engineering, network administration, or a closely related technical role.
• Demonstrated hands-on expertise with Fortinet technologies, especially FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiNAC.
• Practical experience working with Cisco and Meraki environments, including routers, switching platforms, and wireless networking.
• Strong understanding of core networking concepts such as TCP/IP, BGP, VLANs, routing protocols, and SD-WAN design for distributed sites.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues, document technical environments thoroughly, and support project-based infrastructure work.
• An industry-recognized certification such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or a Cisco credential is required.
• Fortinet certifications are strongly preferred; additional certifications related to Cisco, Meraki, or network security are considered an advantage.
