Financial and Accounting Analyst

Robert Half is looking for a Financial and Accounting Analyst to join a client team in the western suburbs. This position blends financial planning, commercial analysis, and core accounting support to help leaders make informed business decisions. The role will evaluate performance trends, build useful reporting and models, and contribute to accurate monthly accounting activities. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working across departments and turning complex information into clear recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate sales performance, market developments, and competitor activity to uncover revenue opportunities and business risks.

• Build and refine financial models that support decisions related to pricing, promotions, and overall commercial performance.

• Prepare recurring and on-demand reports for leadership, translating data findings into practical business insights.

• Partner with sales, marketing, and other internal teams to investigate performance issues and recommend actions that improve results.

• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles by gathering inputs, analyzing assumptions, and updating financial projections.

• Help maintain accurate and dependable commercial data within HubSpot and the company’s sales management tools.

• Contribute to the rollout and ongoing support of commercial software and sales management systems where needed.

• Assist with accounting operations by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end close activities.

Our client offers a dynamic, fast-paced working environment with opportunities for growth and development. This position is primarily onsite and it offers a salary of $100,000-$120,000 and full benefits packing to include:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, or a similar finance-focused role.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret large data sets and convert findings into actionable recommendations.
• Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience creating and maintaining financial models.
• Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and general ledger-related processes.
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close support.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
• Proven problem-solving ability and sound judgment when addressing business and financial issues.

Compensation

$100,000.00-$120,000.00 Yearly
