Responsibilities:
• Conduct pre-registration and financial clearance activities by gathering required patient information and entering complete, accurate details into the designated health record system.
• Review insurance eligibility for upcoming services, validate active coverage, and document verification results thoroughly for each account.
• Analyze payer benefits to determine covered services, authorization needs, policy limits, effective dates, and expected out-of-pocket costs for patients.
• Prepare clear cost estimates in advance of treatment and explain financial responsibility information so patients can make informed decisions.
• Communicate important care-related and administrative information to patients and families, including required forms, policies, and service expectations.
• Identify accounts with insufficient coverage, discuss available assistance options, and connect patients with financial counseling or applicable support programs.
• Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to resolve pre-service issues that could delay care, billing, or reimbursement.
• Provide guidance to newer team members when needed, sharing knowledge related to payer requirements, front-end revenue cycle workflows, and documentation practices.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.• At least 6 months of experience in healthcare pre-registration, insurance eligibility review, benefit verification, or related business office functions.
• Working knowledge of front-end revenue cycle processes, including financial clearance and patient account preparation.
• Ability to interpret commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid coverage details and explain patient liability accurately.
• Experience communicating with patients, families, and clinical staff in a detail-oriented and service-focused manner.
• Familiarity with EMR or EHR platforms; Epic experience is preferred.
• Understanding of medical terminology, healthcare documentation, billing workflows, and privacy standards in regulated environments.
Compensation
