Accounts Payable Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices for completeness, accuracy, and proper approval before processing them for payment.
• Assign correct general ledger or expense codes to invoices and supporting documentation in line with company procedures.
• Prepare and process vendor payments through ACH transactions and scheduled check runs within established deadlines.
• Reconcile payable records, resolve discrepancies with vendors or internal stakeholders, and maintain clear documentation of payment activity.
• Monitor outstanding obligations to help ensure invoices are paid accurately and on time.
• Maintain organized accounts payable files and support reporting needs related to disbursements and invoice status.
Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience working in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support function.• Working knowledge of invoice review, account coding, and payment processing procedures.
• Experience handling ACH payments and coordinating routine check runs.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage transaction accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to resolve payment or documentation issues.
• Proficiency with standard accounting systems and basic spreadsheet use for tracking and reconciliation.
