Purchaser
Responsibilities:
• Source construction materials, tools, and equipment based on project scope, budget targets, and schedule requirements.
• Build productive partnerships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to support reliable pricing and service.
• Review quotations from multiple sources, compare value, and negotiate favorable costs, terms, and delivery commitments.
• Prepare and release purchase orders, then monitor open orders to help ensure materials arrive when needed.
• Work with project managers, estimators, and field personnel to anticipate upcoming purchasing needs and prevent delays.
• Track stock levels and arrange replenishment for commonly used items to support uninterrupted operations.
• Examine purchasing data to identify savings opportunities and recommend more efficient procurement practices.
• Maintain complete and accurate procurement records while ensuring adherence to company standards, contract terms, and safety requirements.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in purchasing, buying, or procurement within construction or a related industry.• Demonstrated ability to procure materials and manage day-to-day purchasing activities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience negotiating with vendors and evaluating bids to achieve cost-effective purchasing outcomes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking, analysis, and reporting.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce and its use in supporting procurement or vendor-related processes.
• Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail in documentation, order follow-up, and recordkeeping.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Compensation
