Sr. Cost Accountant
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Cost Accountant to support a manufacturing organization. This role will be responsible for cost accounting, inventory analysis, manufacturing reporting, and ERP-related process improvements within a D365 environment. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing finance experience and the ability to partner with operations to drive accuracy and insight across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and analyze standard costs, BOMs, routings, and inventory transactions.
Perform cost variance analysis including labor, material, overhead, and production variances.
Support month-end close activities, inventory reconciliations, and journal entries.
Analyze manufacturing performance and provide reporting on product costs, margins, and operational KPIs.
Partner with plant operations, supply chain, and production leadership to improve cost visibility and profitability.
Assist with inventory cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit support.
Support ongoing optimization and reporting enhancements within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
Identify and implement process improvements related to costing, inventory controls, and financial reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) ERP preferred.
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with finance and operations teams.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• At least 7 years of experience in cost accounting, including significant work in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong command of standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 in a finance or manufacturing accounting setting is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large data sets and build meaningful reports.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear communication skills with a proven ability to partner effectively with both finance and operations teams.
Compensation
