Civil Litigation Attorney

We are looking for a Civil Litigation Attorney to join a fast-moving legal team supporting complex business-related disputes from San Diego, California. This is a Long-term Contract opportunity suited to an attorney who enjoys substantive drafting work, steady case support, and close collaboration with colleagues in a fully remote setting. The role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully across an active litigation caseload while maintaining high standards for accuracy, responsiveness, and organization.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with lead counsel on business and tax controversy matters by providing day-to-day litigation support across multiple active cases.
• Prepare, revise, and organize discovery materials, including written requests, responses, and other case-related documents needed throughout the litigation process.
• Examine filings and other legal work product carefully to help strengthen quality, consistency, and overall case presentation.
• Track court and case deadlines, maintain reliable calendaring, and help ensure timely completion of litigation tasks in a busy practice environment.
• Conduct legal research and assist in drafting motions, pleadings, briefs, and related submissions as matters progress.
• Coordinate with attorneys and team members to keep cases advancing efficiently while supporting evolving priorities during periods of heavy workload.
• Contribute to overall case management by organizing materials, monitoring developments, and helping maintain momentum across a high-volume docket.

Qualifications:

• Active attorney license in good standing is required.
• At least 1 year of civil litigation experience is required.
• Demonstrated ability to draft litigation documents with particular strength in discovery-related work.
• Experience handling competing deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and a high level of accuracy in written work.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote legal team.
• Background in business litigation is preferred.
• Federal court experience or familiarity with tax litigation matters is a plus.

Compensation

$55.00-$70.00 Hourly
