Senior Accountant

A growing life sciences company in Fallbrook is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who wants to take ownership of the monthly close, balance sheet activity, reconciliations, and financial reporting while working closely with Finance leadership.

This person will serve as a key accounting resource and will have the opportunity to improve processes, investigate variances, and work across several areas of the business.

What you'll be responsible for

• Manage assigned portions of the monthly and year-end close
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform complex balance sheet reconciliations
• Review general ledger activity for accuracy
• Analyze account fluctuations and investigate variances
• Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets
• Assist with financial statement preparation
• Support AP and AR reconciliation activities
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Prepare financial reporting packages
• Support internal and external audits
• Research accounting discrepancies and recommend corrections
• Assist with accounting policy and process improvements
• Partner with Operations, FP& A, and Finance leadership
• Provide support for special accounting projects

Qualifications:

• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with an ERP/accounting system
• Strong month-end close experience
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Biotech, medical device, manufacturing, or life sciences experience is a plus
