Human Resources Generalist

Robert Half is recruiting on behalf of a respected Hawaii-based organization seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations. This role is responsible for payroll administration, benefits coordination, employee onboarding, recruiting support, compliance, and workplace safety initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to providing exceptional internal customer service while ensuring HR processes are executed accurately and in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Benefits & Employee Administration

• Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs
• Administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, life, disability, and retirement plans
• Support annual open enrollment and employee benefit changes
• Coordinate leave administration, including compliance with applicable federal and state leave regulations
• Maintain personnel files, attendance records, and employee data within HR systems
• Track employee time-off balances and related records

Payroll Administration

• Process bi-weekly payroll, including salary adjustments, direct deposit changes, and wage garnishments
• Coordinate final paychecks and other special payroll transactions
• Maintain payroll records and employee payroll data
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, reporting, and employee tax documentation

Compliance & Safety

• Assist with workplace safety programs and incident documentation
• Maintain compliance records and support regulatory reporting requirements
• Coordinate employee safety orientation and related training materials
• Support emergency preparedness and workplace health initiatives

Talent Acquisition Support

• Post and manage job advertisements across multiple platforms
• Screen applications and conduct initial candidate outreach
• Coordinate interviews with hiring managers
• Facilitate pre-employment processes, including background checks, drug screenings, and onboarding documentation

General HR Support

• Maintain employee directories and internal HR records
• Monitor required certifications, licenses, and compliance-related documentation
• Assist with employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and special projects
• Provide administrative support across a variety of HR functions as needed

Qualifications:

Human Resources Generalist Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of human resources experience, including payroll and benefits administration
• Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements
• Proficiency with HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

This Human Resources Generalist position works onsite, 100% of the working schedule, Monday - Friday. While flexibility is honored, it is not hybrid and does not provide a relocation package. Prescreening and interviewing will be granted to Oahu Residents a priority.
