Supplier Quality Engineer

Compensation: $65 to $85 Yearly

Our client is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive supplier quality performance, lead corrective action initiatives, and reduce manufacturing defects and material-related scrap. This role partners closely with suppliers, engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure purchased materials meet quality expectations and support continuous improvement efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead supplier quality investigations, containment activities, and corrective action efforts.
  • Partner with suppliers to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions using methodologies such as 8D and continuous improvement tools.
  • Coordinate material sorting and containment activities with internal teams, suppliers, and third-party providers.
  • Track and analyze supplier-related quality issues, assembly damage, and scrap trends.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives using DMAIC, Pareto analysis, trend analysis, and data-driven action plans.
  • Manage the supplier failure analysis process, including tracking returned materials and ensuring timely supplier responses.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Process Engineering, and Test Engineering teams to improve product quality and reduce costs.
  • Support ISO 9001 quality management activities, including internal audits, documentation, calibration, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Prepare reports and communicate quality performance metrics to management and key stakeholders.



Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis, corrective actions, supplier quality processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, engineering teams, and leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification is preferred.

Compensation

$65,000.00-$85,000.00 Yearly
