Legal Assistant/Administrator

Compensation: $33.25 to $38.50 Hourly

We are looking for a highly organized Legal Assistant/Administrator to support a university legal team in Maryland. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage scheduling, documentation, and administrative coordination in a legal setting that values accuracy and organization. The role blends legal support with operational assistance, requiring strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to keep multiple priorities moving forward. You will play an important part in helping the team stay organized, prepared, and efficient.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate complex calendars for attorneys and legal staff, including meetings, appointments, and time-sensitive commitments.
• Review, process, and track legal and business-related invoices to support accurate and timely payment workflows.
• Assemble agendas, background documents, and other materials needed for meetings and legal discussions.
• Monitor follow-up items from meetings and communications to help ensure deadlines and next steps are completed on time.
• Organize legal files and maintain structured documentation practices that support easy access and consistent recordkeeping.
• Provide administrative support for legal operations projects, including meeting coordination, logistics planning, and workflow follow-through.
• Assist with the development of legal database and document management processes to improve organization and efficiency.
• Support filing activities and case-related documentation using legal systems and established procedures.
• Partner with legal leadership and advisors to help manage priorities, improve coordination, and contribute practical operational support.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a legal assistant, legal administrator, paralegal, or similar legal support role.

• Associates degree or higher degree desired.

• Strong calendar management skills with the ability to coordinate schedules across multiple stakeholders.

• Experience handling invoices, tracking approvals, or supporting expense-related administrative processes.

• High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a detail-oriented legal environment.

• Familiarity with legal files, e-filing, court filings, or case management software.

• Ability to prepare organized meeting materials and keep action items clearly documented.

• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to support both legal and operational needs.



Compensation

$33.25-$38.50 Hourly
