Accounting Manager
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting for the organization in Hayward, California. This role oversees close activities, maintains the integrity of the general ledger, and supports audit readiness through strong controls and detailed analysis. The ideal candidate brings sound technical accounting knowledge, a hands-on approach to reconciliations and journal entries, and the ability to guide a high-performing accounting function.
Responsibilities:
- Provide general ledger support and guidance to accounting staff
- Reconcile operating bank accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Support project-related regulatory and contract compliance requirements
- Manage customer billing, collections, and cash application activities
- Process, reconcile, and monitor corporate credit card transactions
- Administer certified payroll submissions and labor compliance documentation
- Prepare and maintain union reports and related records
- Coordinate and submit OCIP reporting requirements
- Serve as backup support for payroll processing functions
- Handle annual 1099 preparation and filing activities
- Deliver training and system assistance for Vista/Viewpoint users
Qualifications:
- Preferred bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- At least two years of accounting experience supporting a construction general contractor
- Proven leadership background with responsibility for coaching and managing team members
- Experience using Viewpoint Vista or comparable construction financial management systems
- Knowledge of union payroll benefits administration and compliance reporting is a strong advantage
Compensation
