We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Generalist to provide on-site support for a manufacturing team in California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can operate independently, build credibility across all levels of the plant, and deliver practical HR guidance in a fast-moving environment. The role will partner closely with local leadership and employees to strengthen day-to-day HR operations, employee support, and hiring activities while maintaining a detail-oriented and confidential approach.

• Foster a respectful and accountable work environment by building strong partnerships with employees, front-line leaders, and site management.

• Lead recruiting efforts for hourly and skilled manufacturing positions by coordinating sourcing, scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, and supporting hiring decisions.
• Organize and deliver onboarding activities for new hires, including orientation sessions, required paperwork, training materials, and policy reviews.
• Oversee routine payroll and timekeeping administration by reviewing time records, following up on discrepancies, and helping managers complete approvals accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain organized employee files and HR documentation while ensuring established policies and procedures are applied consistently across the site.
• Identify recurring process challenges within HR operations and implement practical improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the employee experience.
• Collaborate with plant leadership and corporate HR partners to support site initiatives, workforce needs, and ongoing people-related programs.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Human Resources experience, including broad generalist responsibilities in a manufacturing, industrial, or similarly fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated strength in employee relations, with the ability to manage sensitive situations professionally and maintain confidentiality.
• Hands-on experience with HR administration, including employee records, policy support, and day-to-day HR operations.
• Background in onboarding and orientation coordination for hourly or operations-based workforces.
• Familiarity with payroll, timekeeping, benefits-related support, and resolving employee questions in these areas.
• Experience using HRIS platforms and related systems for employee data management and reporting.
• Ability to work independently in a stand-alone HR role while building effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and leadership.
