Sr. Accountant / Cost Accoutnant
Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain product standard costing data, ensuring updates are accurate and aligned with current material and production assumptions.
• Analyze manufacturing and inventory variances, explain key drivers, and provide clear reporting to support financial statement accuracy.
• Oversee reporting related to cost of goods manufactured, inventory balances, and working capital performance for the facility.
• Prepare journal entries, complete account reconciliations, and perform balance sheet reviews as part of the weekly and monthly close process.
• Monitor consistency and accuracy across plant financial records and connected operating systems, resolving discrepancies when identified.
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process and compare actual results against plan to highlight risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain reporting data in the appropriate systems so budgets, cost information, and financial results are reflected correctly.
• Partner with accounts receivable and accounts payable activities as needed while supporting plant-level cost savings and process improvement initiatives.
• Strengthen month-end and year-end accounting processes by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, and reporting precision.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of accounting experience, with a strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.• Hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, and preparation of journal entries.
• Proven ability to complete account reconciliations and balance sheet analysis with a high level of accuracy.
• Knowledge of standard cost accounting, including annual standard cost updates and variance analysis.
• Experience supporting inventory and manufacturing financial reporting, including cost of goods manufactured.
• Proficiency with SAP or a comparable ERP system used for accounting and plant financial reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
Compensation
