Sr. Accountant
Lana Funkhouser with Robert Half is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of a diverse real estate portfolio in Boise, Idaho. This is an onsite position responsible for financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, cash management, accounts payable oversight, and property accounting activities. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger accounting experience, real estate accounting knowledge, financial analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate with ownership, property managers, vendors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
This role offers a clear path to a Controller position as the company grows. The selected candidate will work closely with ownership, gain exposure to multiple entities and property types, and play a key role in a dynamic and expanding organization.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain accounting records for multiple entities and properties.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
- Prepare and review bank, credit card, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Produce financial statements, cash flow reports, and management reporting.
- Manage accounts payable processes, including coding, approvals, and payment disbursements.
- Monitor cash activity, balances, transfers, and upcoming obligations.
- Perform property accounting for commercial and multifamily assets, including rent activity, tenant balances, concessions, and property-level transactions.
- Reconcile property management system data with accounting records and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and special projects.
- Prepare CAM and tenant reconciliations, analyze lease provisions, and manage shared cost allocations.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to ownership.
- Help develop scalable accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Senior-level accounting experience with month-end close and financial reporting responsibilities.
- Strong account reconciliation experience, including intercompany activity.
- Commercial and/or multifamily property accounting experience.
- Knowledge of accounts payable, cash management, and internal controls.
- Experience with accounting and property management systems such as QuickBooks, Entrata, or similar platforms.
- Ability to interpret lease-related financial terms and prepare CAM or tenant reconciliations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated real estate/property accounting experience.
- Desire and ability to grow into a Controller-level leadership role.
