Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a team based in Somerset, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing core accounting activities, maintaining accurate records, and keeping financial transactions organized. The person in this role will contribute to smooth accounting workflows by handling payables, receivables, reconciliations, and bookkeeping tasks in QuickBooks.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain complete and accurate financial records by processing routine bookkeeping transactions and updating account information in a timely manner.
• Manage accounts payable activities, including reviewing invoices, entering payment details, and helping ensure vendors are paid correctly and on schedule.
• Oversee accounts receivable tasks by recording incoming payments, tracking outstanding balances, and supporting timely collection efforts.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations regularly to verify transaction accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Use QuickBooks to enter, organize, and monitor financial data while supporting consistent reporting and record maintenance.
• Review financial entries for completeness and accuracy, identifying issues and making corrections when needed.
• Assist with month-end accounting activities by preparing supporting documentation and helping keep records audit-ready.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in bookkeeping with the ability to manage day-to-day accounting transactions accurately.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks for maintaining records, entering transactions, and supporting financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoice handling and payment tracking.
• Experience with accounts receivable functions such as posting payments and monitoring open balances.
• Ability to complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies with strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and a dependable approach to handling confidential financial information.

Compensation

$20.59-$23.84 Hourly
