Marketing/Communications Coordinator
We are looking for a skilled Marketing/Communications Coordinator to support a government organization in California. This long-term contract position will focus on strengthening public awareness of related programs, policies, and services through clear, effective communication across print, digital, and social channels. The role is ideal for a communications specialist who can balance content development, brand consistency, vendor coordination, and audience engagement in a highly structured environment.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the development and execution of communication initiatives that improve understanding of benefits, procedures, and policy information.
• Maintain a consistent organizational voice and visual identity across publications, outreach materials, reports, and public-facing messaging.
• Produce, revise, and manage written and visual content such as forms, brochures, newsletters, flyers, and other marketing collateral.
• Update and maintain website content to ensure information remains accurate, current, and accessible to target audiences.
• Plan, create, and publish social media content for platforms such as LinkedIn and Facebook in alignment with communication goals.
• Coordinate the creation of video and multimedia assets by working closely with graphic design and audio-visual resources.
• Oversee external vendor engagements, including contract administration, request-for-proposal activities, deliverable review, and budget compliance.
• Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for stronger outreach and more effective communications.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in marketing communications, content development, or corporate communications roles.• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences and formats.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere.
• Experience using Canva to develop branded communication materials and templates.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Hands-on experience with website content management and routine digital content updates.
• Background managing social media content with careful attention to detail, particularly on LinkedIn and Facebook.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate effectively with staff, vendors, and the public.
Compensation
