Staff Accountant
We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team and help maintain accurate, timely financial operations across the business. This permanent, on-site position will oversee core accounting activities, support payroll and reporting, and provide dependable financial information to both operations and leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting ability, sound judgment, and a practical approach to working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Record and post daily accounting activity to the general ledger while maintaining complete and accurate financial records.
• Manage invoice review, payment processing, receivables tracking, and collection follow-up to support healthy cash flow.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card activity, and other balance sheet accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Process biweekly payroll for approximately 90 employees and assist with benefits-related administrative support in coordination with HR or management.
• Prepare financial reports, budget tracking updates, and other analysis to help leadership make informed business decisions.
• Support month-end and year-end close by organizing schedules, reviewing account activity, and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Work with external auditors, tax advisors, or other financial partners by gathering documentation and responding to information requests.
• Communicate financial information clearly with operations personnel and management to support accountability and day-to-day decision-making.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in general accounting, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collection support activities.
• Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as iSolved or similar platforms, along with strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to assist with financial statement preparation, budgeting support, and period-end closing processes.
• Understanding of California payroll regulations and related compliance requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Clear, effective communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-accounting stakeholders.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
Compensation
