Billing Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to support billing and accounts receivable operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Saint Louis, Missouri. This role focuses on delivering responsive service to customers, maintaining accurate financial records, and helping resolve account-related questions efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working across multiple systems, and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment while handling sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities:
• Guide customers through the online billing portal and provide clear support on account access and payment-related questions.
• Investigate billing discrepancies, identify root causes, and follow through to resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Post payments accurately, update customer account details, and help ensure records remain complete and current.
• Review outstanding balances, track account activity, and support collection efforts when follow-up is required.
• Partner with internal teams to address billing concerns and coordinate solutions for account-related matters.
• Record customer conversations, payment activity, and account updates thoroughly within company systems.
• Assist with month-end billing tasks and accounts receivable processes to help maintain timely financial reporting.
• Protect confidential customer and financial data by following established handling and documentation standards.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in billing, accounts receivable, customer service, or a related administrative function.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused and detail-oriented approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including working knowledge of Excel.
• Experience using billing, accounting, or computerized financial systems is preferred.
• Solid attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and resolve them effectively.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

Compensation

$18.21-$21.09 Hourly
