Insurance Defense Legal Assistant

We are looking for an Insurance Defense Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation practice. This long-term contract position is well suited for someone who can keep legal matters organized, maintain accurate schedules, and respond quickly in a fast-moving environment. The role will contribute to day-to-day case support for multiple attorneys while helping ensure filings, correspondence, and administrative tasks are handled efficiently.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and submit electronic court filings with accuracy and attention to deadlines.
• Manage and coordinate calendars for three attorneys, including court dates, case deadlines, and related appointments.
• Process incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring legal correspondence and case materials are distributed promptly.
• Organize litigation documents and maintain case files so records remain current and easy to access.
• Support attorneys with administrative and case-related tasks needed to keep matters moving forward efficiently.
• Monitor filing requirements and procedural timelines to help maintain compliance in active civil litigation matters.
• Communicate with courts, legal staff, and internal team members regarding scheduling, filings, and document status.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a legal assistant role within a litigation environment.
• Hands-on ability to complete e-filing and court filing tasks accurately and on time.
• Proven experience managing attorney calendars and tracking deadlines for multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with shifting demands and urgent timelines.
• Knowledge of civil litigation procedures and legal document handling.
• Insurance defense experience is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail in managing mail, documents, and case information.

Compensation

$20.00-$25.00 Hourly
