Human Resources (HR) Manager

Compensation: $47.50 to $55 Hourly

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to support organizational people operations in Virginia. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a hands-on HR Manger who can dedicate approximately 20 hours per week while building strong workplace practices, guiding leaders, and helping maintain a respectful and compliant work environment. The person in this role will partner with management to strengthen employee relations, develop practical HR processes, and provide reliable support across core HR functions.


Responsibilities:

• Create and implement workplace policies, behavioral expectations, and employee conduct guidelines that support compliance and a positive culture.

• Deliver training for supervisors and managers on key people-management topics, including leadership fundamentals, conflict resolution, and effective employee communication.

• Lead workplace investigations and review employee concerns with fairness, discretion, and attention to applicable legal and organizational requirements.

• Design and launch a confidential reporting channel and complaint-handling process, ensuring concerns are tracked, reviewed, and communicated back to leadership with clear recommendations.

• Advise managers on employee relations matters, helping address sensitive personnel issues in a timely and consistent manner.

• Support HR administration activities such as onboarding coordination, benefits-related processes, and maintenance of employee records.

• Utilize HR information systems to organize documentation, monitor HR activity, and improve consistency across people operations.

• Recommend enhancements to HR programs and procedures that strengthen accountability, communication, and the overall employee experience.


Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in human resources leadership or HR management, including employee relations and policy development.
• Strong background conducting workplace investigations and handling employee complaints with professionalism and sound judgment.
• Ability to train supervisors and managers on workplace expectations, leadership practices, and conflict management techniques.
• Knowledge of HR administration, onboarding practices, and benefits-related support activities.
• Experience working with HRIS platforms and maintaining accurate HR documentation and reporting.
• Solid understanding of employment practices, workplace compliance, and confidential issue resolution.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and advise leadership effectively.

Compensation

$47.50-$55.00 Hourly
