Sr. Treasury Accountant

Houston, TX 77098, US Full Time

A Houston-based investment firm is seeking a Senior Treasury Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This position combines treasury and accounting responsibilities, with a strong focus on cash activity, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting and audit support.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of public accounting or treasury experience within a high-volume, multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and account for daily cash and treasury activity across 100+ bank accounts and multiple legal entities.
  • Perform high-volume bank reconciliations and research and resolve reconciling items.
  • Record cash-related journal entries and ensure transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledger.
  • Monitor cash activity, transfers, deposits, disbursements, and other banking transactions.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to treasury and cash accounts.
  • Reconcile bank activity to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation across multiple entities.
  • Assist with financial reporting and analysis related to cash and treasury activity.
  • Provide schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Support internal controls and SOX compliance requirements.
  • Partner with accounting, finance, investment, and other internal teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve treasury processes, reconciliations, controls, and reporting.



Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in public accounting, corporate accounting/treasury, or a combination of public accounting and industry experience.
  • Experience working with multiple entities and high-volume banking activity.
  • Strong understanding of cash accounting, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a large volume of transactions and accounts.
  • Ability to research discrepancies and resolve accounting and reconciliation issues.
  • Collaborative, positive approach with strong communication and organizational skills.
