Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst

We are looking for a Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst to provide hands-on technical assistance for end users in Carol Stream, Illinois. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys solving a wide range of hardware, software, and access-related issues while delivering responsive day-to-day support. The role focuses on keeping employee technology running smoothly through workstation support, account administration, application assistance, and timely ticket resolution.

Responsibilities:
• Deliver front-line support for desktop and laptop systems, handling device setup, diagnostics, repairs, and replacement of common accessories and peripherals.
• Maintain printing and scanning equipment by addressing hardware failures, resolving driver-related problems, and managing routine supply changes such as toner replacement.
• Assist users with Microsoft 365 tools, including collaboration platforms, cloud storage access, and file permission issues across shared network resources.
• Manage user accounts by coordinating onboarding tasks, creating and updating access, and maintaining accurate employee account information.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot business software, including Microsoft Office 365, Adobe applications, SolidWorks, and other organization-approved tools.
• Respond to authentication and access incidents such as password resets, account lockouts, and multi-factor authentication challenges.
• Investigate and resolve connectivity issues involving network access, wireless service, remote connections, and related user support needs.
• Support employee lifecycle activities by preparing equipment for new hires, recovering assets during offboarding, and disabling access when employment ends.
• Provide general assistance for business applications and user login concerns, while documenting incidents, actions taken, and outcomes in the service desk ticketing system.

Qualifications:

• Experience supporting Windows-based desktop and laptop environments in a help desk or desktop support capacity.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory for account management, access updates, and basic user administration.
• Proficiency with Windows 10 and Microsoft desktop environments, including common troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and standard end-user support for collaboration and productivity tools.
• Ability to diagnose hardware, software, printer, scanner, and peripheral issues in a fast-paced support setting.
• Experience handling service desk tickets with clear documentation, prioritization, and follow-through to resolution.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach when assisting employees with technical issues.

Compensation

$19.40-$22.46 Hourly
