Tax Preparer

We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to support federal tax compliance work for a financial services environment on a Contract basis. This role is fully remote and focuses on preparing and reviewing federal tax filings tied to investment structures, partnerships, and fund-related entities. The position is based in Stamford, Connecticut, and is ideal for someone who brings strong technical tax knowledge and hands-on experience with GoSystems.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare federal tax returns for investment-related entities, partnerships, and fund structures with a high degree of accuracy.
• Review completed filings to confirm compliance with federal tax requirements and internal quality standards.
• Use GoSystems as the primary platform for tax preparation, review, and supporting documentation.
• Analyze financial and tax data to identify issues, resolve discrepancies, and support timely submission of returns.
• Partner with tax and finance stakeholders to gather required information and clarify filing details.
• Maintain organized workpapers and documentation to support return positions and review processes.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience preparing and reviewing federal tax returns.
• Background supporting tax functions within financial services organizations.
• Working knowledge of investment entities, partnerships, and fund-related tax filings.
• Hands-on experience using GoSystems for tax preparation and review.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a remote work setting.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently in a Contract role.

Compensation

$35.63-$41.25 Hourly
