Sr. HR Generalist
The ideal Sr. HR Generalist candidate will possess strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, extensive experience managing employee relations matters, and expertise in FMLA and other protected leave programs. This individual must be comfortable advising leaders, conducting investigations, and promoting a positive and compliant workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance and coaching to managers and employees.
Conduct workplace investigations involving employee complaints, policy violations, misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and performance concerns.
Partner with leadership to resolve complex employee issues while minimizing organizational risk.
Facilitate conflict resolution and promote positive employee engagement initiatives.
Provide recommendations on corrective actions, documentation, and performance improvement plans.
Leave Administration & Accommodations
Administer and track FMLA, ADA, military leave, workers' compensation, and other federal and state leave programs.
Manage employee leave requests from initial intake through return-to-work processes.
Coordinate interactive accommodation processes and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
Communicate with employees, managers, and third-party administrators regarding leave and accommodation matters.
Ensure accurate recordkeeping and documentation related to leaves of absence.
Compliance & Employment Law
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Advise management on wage and hour laws, leave laws, employee classification, disciplinary actions, and HR best practices.
Review and update employee handbook, policies, and procedures as needed.
Monitor legislative changes impacting employment practices and recommend policy updates accordingly.
Assist in preparing for audits and compliance reviews.
Performance Management
Support managers throughout the performance management process.
Provide guidance on coaching, employee development, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
Assist with performance review programs and talent development initiatives.
Ensure consistency and fairness in performance-related decisions.
Recruitment & Talent Support
Partner with hiring managers on recruitment efforts as needed.
Assist with onboarding and orientation activities.
Support workforce planning and talent acquisition initiatives.
Help develop strategies to attract and retain top talent.
HR Operations
Maintain HRIS records and ensure employee data integrity.
Generate reports and metrics related to turnover, attendance, employee relations, and HR compliance.
Support benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee communications.
Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
Strong employee relations and workplace investigation experience.
Hands-on experience administering FMLA, ADA, and leave of absence programs.
Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
Compensation
