Estimator II

Job Description:

The Purpose of Your Role as an Estimator II

The Estimator II will help turn project plans and specifications into accurate estimates that give customers and project teams a clear understanding of scope, cost, and expectations.

Working across disciplines such as plumbing, piping, and sheet metal, you'll use your technical knowledge to develop estimates for medium to large projects, including plan and specification, design assist, and design build work.

What You'll Be Part Of

You'll work closely with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop competitive and practical project proposals.

  • Review drawings and specifications, perform takeoffs, and develop complete project cost estimates

  • Evaluate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs to determine the most effective approach

  • Obtain vendor and subcontractor quotes, compare options, and make recommendations based on cost, quality, and availability

  • Develop proposals, document estimating assumptions, and maintain supporting project information

  • Work with other departments and disciplines while providing guidance and mentorship to team members

The work combines technical knowledge with problem solving, giving you the opportunity to influence projects before they move into execution.

What We're Looking For in You

  • Experience in estimating, engineering, or the mechanical construction trades

  • 4+ years of Microsoft Office experience, particularly with Excel and Word

  • Strong understanding of construction, mechanical systems, safety, and project documentation

  • Ability to read drawings and specifications and translate them into accurate estimates

What This Position Is (and Is Not)

This position is:

  • Focused on developing accurate and competitive project estimates

  • A technical role that combines construction knowledge with cost analysis

  • A collaborative position working with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams

This position is not:

  • Limited to data entry or administrative estimating work

  • A field construction management position

Why This Position Stands Out

You'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of mechanical construction projects and see how your estimates influence the work before it reaches the field.

The position also provides room to expand your technical knowledge, work across different disciplines, and help develop other team members as your experience grows.

If This Sounds Like You

Were looking for somebody who takes pride in accurate work, communicates well with others, and enjoys finding practical solutions that help projects move forward.

If you enjoy solving problems, working through the details, and understanding how a project comes together from the start, wed like to connect.
