Portland State’s 49-acre downtown campus is located in the heart of one of America’s most vibrant centers of culture, business and technology. We are recognized throughout the world for programs like Urban Planning, Social Work, and Environmental Studies that directly engage the community, and aim our students towards the creation of a better, more sustainable world.
Position Summary
The primary role of this position is to provide information and assistance for all functions associated with the Registrar’s Office via phone, in-person, or email interaction. These include but are not limited to, admission to the university, registering for classes and all policies and procedures related to student records. The position will provide service to not only the current student population, but prospective students, faculty and staff as well as alumni and community members.

This position will also provide program or process oversight for one or more specific business operations such as special program enrollment, residency classification assistance, official enrollment verification, transcript or educational record procurement, or special appeal exceptions. The position will be responsible for accurately creating, posting, maintaining and preserving the integrity of official student academic records.

We are recruiting to fill two positions.
Minimum Qualifications from Classification
Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
An Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR
Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology AND one year of general clerical experience.

Note:
College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position
  • At least one year of direct service experience involving case coordination, and/or guiding users through multi-step processes via phone, email and in-person communication.
  • Demonstrated experience employing de-escalation techniques in a service environment.
  • Ability to perform work, stay on task, and maintain coverage schedules in a self-directed way.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of PSU policy, procedure and environment.
  • Knowledge of Banner SIS.
  • Experience at an academic institution of higher education.

Work Days/Hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
The starting salary rate for this position will be between $19.36 and $21.91 per hour with an excellent benefits package including 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and for employee, spouse or dependant at any of the Oregon University System schools.
