CDL Class A Fuel Transport Driver
Full-Time (45+ Hours per week) | Monday–Friday| 6:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Position Summary
The CDL Class A Fuel Transport Driver operates a tractor and tanker trailer to transport propane and/or fuel products from supply points to designated company facilities. This position is responsible for completing deliveries safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all company, Department of Transportation (DOT), and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Operate an assigned tractor and tanker trailer to transport propane and/or fuel products to designated company facilities
- Complete all required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Safely and efficiently load, unload, and transfer products between transport vehicles and bulk storage systems
- Comply with all DOT regulations, company policies, and applicable safety requirements
- Perform routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance
- Maintain accurate transportation, delivery, inspection, and regulatory documentation
- Follow all established safety and security procedures
- Promptly report equipment concerns, safety hazards, spills, accidents, or delivery issues
- Maintain assigned vehicles and equipment in a clean, safe, and professional condition
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One (1) year relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job
- Valid Class A State Driver’s License with HazMat and Tanker Endorsements
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
- Ability to safely drive various vehicles
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
- Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, the CDL Class A Fuel Transport Driver must be able to:
- Frequently sit, talk, and hear
- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle or operate equipment, tools, and controls
- Reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Regularly lift and/or move 40–60 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Demonstrate close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Occasionally work in wet or humid conditions and around fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration
- Work in environments ranging from quiet office settings to moderately loud field conditions
