Accounting Assistant - Inventory

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant - Inventory to support vehicle inventory accounting operations in Warwick, Rhode Island. This is a Contract position focused on maintaining accurate financial records, coordinating documentation, and helping ensure inventory-related transactions are processed efficiently. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across accounting tasks tied to vehicle purchases, sales activity, reconciliations, and periodic audit support.

Responsibilities:
• Record financial activity related to newly acquired and pre-owned vehicle inventory with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and finalize billing for vehicle exchanges between dealers as well as sales completed through auction channels.
• Enter and balance intercompany or interlocation transactions to reflect transfers between business locations correctly.
• Maintain organized title records and oversee supporting inventory documentation to ensure compliance and accessibility.
• Reconcile accounting schedules regularly and investigate discrepancies to keep records aligned with reporting requirements.
• Participate in monthly reviews of inventory records and accounting data to confirm completeness and accuracy.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities connected to inventory transactions and related accounting workflows.

Qualifications:

• Experience performing core accounting functions in a fast-paced business environment.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Ability to complete reconciliations accurately, including bank or account balancing activities.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
• Proficiency in organizing documentation and managing multiple transaction types simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams.
• Prior experience supporting inventory-related accounting or automotive accounting operations is preferred.

Compensation

$21.85-$25.30 Hourly
