Remote: Deposition/Appearance Attorney | $155K + Bonus

Robert Half Legal is partnering with a leading plaintiff-side auto consumer warranty firm in Los Angeles in their search for a temp-to-hire Deposition/Appearance Associate Attorney. Here are the details:

Position: Deposition/Appearance Associate Attorney

Assignment: Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

Location: 100% Remote

Start Date: Monday, September 14th (training begins)

Interview Process: One round with the internal project management team

Compensation:

• $40/hour during the initial contract/training phase (approximately 1 week / 40 hours)
• Upon Conversion: $155,000 annual base salary + $12,000 timekeeping bonus
• Full benefits available upon conversion

What They’re Looking For:

• Must be California-barred and active/in good standing
• Juris Doctorate required
• Ability to work standard PST business hours remotely (can reside anywhere in US)

Open to attorneys from other practice areas/backgrounds (i.e. - Document Review, Immigration, Corporate, etc)

• Experience with depositions and hearings is a plus, but not required
• Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with electronic court filing systems, including PACER and state-specific e-filing portals
• Comfortable learning and using new legal technologies

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Conduct 5–7 depositions weekly
• Attend court hearings virtually
• Use document management systems to manage case files efficiently
• Navigate electronic court filing systems and remote hearing platforms
• Maintain accurate timekeeping and billing records
• Edit, redact, add signatures, and make adjustments in PDFs
• Participate in Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings, including screen sharing and presentation navigation

Upon Conversion to Direct Hire:

• Move into a full-time Associate Attorney role
• Receive full benefits package
• Compensation increases to $155,000 base + $12,000 timekeeping bonus
• Annual billable requirement of 2,000 hours
