Compensation: $28 to $35 Hourly

Overview:

We are looking for experienced Financial Analyst to support financial crimes compliance efforts in Denver, Colorado. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who brings strong investigative judgment, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to evaluate transactional activity for potential risk. The person in this role will help review alerts, research account activity, and document findings that support sound compliance decisions. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to a fast-paced environment focused on identifying unusual behavior and protecting the organization from financial crime exposure.

Responsibilities:

• Review initial transaction monitoring and compliance alerts to identify activity that may present elevated financial crime risk.

• Examine customer transactions, account history, and related records to determine whether activity aligns with expected behavior or requires deeper investigation.

• Apply internal guidance, risk indicators, and regulatory standards to assess alerts and decide when escalation is warranted.

• Refer higher-risk or unclear cases to senior investigators or appropriate compliance partners for additional review.

• Gather information from internal tools, transactional records, and customer data sources to build a complete view of the activity under review.

• Prepare thorough case notes that clearly explain research performed, conclusions reached, and the rationale supporting each decision.

• Recognize patterns and anomalies that may indicate money laundering, fraud, sanctions exposure, or other suspicious conduct.

• Manage a steady volume of reviews while meeting quality expectations and established turnaround deadlines.

• Collaborate with compliance, risk, and investigative teams to support case resolution and broader financial crime prevention efforts.

• Maintain current knowledge of regulatory developments, emerging typologies, and policy changes relevant to alert review and escalation practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is highly preferred.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience, including exposure to financial analysis, risk, compliance, or financial crimes review.

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in anti-money laundering, compliance investigations, or a related risk function.

• Working knowledge of anti-money laundering and Bank Secrecy Act requirements, including alert handling and suspicious activity escalation.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to organize, interpret, and analyze data efficiently.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify trends, inconsistencies, and red flags.

• Clear written communication skills with the ability to produce organized, accurate, and well-supported documentation.

• High attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
