Divisional/Plant Controller
Responsibilities:
• Lead the plant’s accounting and financial activities, ensuring timely reporting, reliable analysis, and strong alignment with corporate expectations.
• Manage the month-end close process, coordinate deadlines across the team, and help drive completion of key accounting tasks during peak close periods.
• Partner with plant leadership through regular operational and financial reviews covering performance measures such as sales, labor efficiency, and scrap.
• Prepare and communicate weekly financial updates, including requirements, business risks, and the impact of pricing or cost changes.
• Supervise and develop two direct reports while providing oversight to core transactional functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Review payroll outputs processed through HR systems and help ensure financial accuracy and appropriate approvals.
• Support budgeting activities and provide financial insight to leadership during planning cycles and ongoing performance reviews.
• Establish clearer documentation, improve accounting workflows, and introduce greater structure in an environment that requires process discipline.
• Produce and analyze reports using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and plant or accounting systems to support informed decision-making.
• Coordinate capital reporting and maintain visibility into plant spending and related financial tracking requirements.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in a controller or plant finance leadership role within a manufacturing environment.• Background in automotive operations with a solid understanding of plant-level financial performance drivers.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, financial reporting, and core accounting principles.
• Experience with manufacturing cost accounting and cost analysis in a high-volume setting.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, provide direction, and support the development of less-experienced team members.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to build, interpret, and present detailed financial reports.
• Familiarity with QAD or comparable ERP systems is preferred.
• Working knowledge of technical accounting, controllership practices, and cross-functional financial communication.
Compensation
