Part Time Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented Part Time Bookkeeper to join a growing team in Scarborough, Maine in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position supports day-to-day financial operations for a seafood processing business and is well suited for someone who can stay organized, manage several priorities at once, and provide helpful customer-facing support when needed. The role works closely with leadership in a small team environment and offers permanent hours with the opportunity to transition into a long-term position.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online for multiple business entities.

• Process billing and accounts payable activities with close attention to accuracy and timeliness.

• Organize sales information and keep supporting documentation up to date and easy to access.

• Reconcile routine transactions and monitor account activity across several sets of books.

• Communicate professionally with customers and internal team members to address account-related questions.

• Balance competing priorities in a busy setting while supporting daily administrative and bookkeeping needs.

• Collaborate with management to keep financial processes running smoothly and efficiently.

• Assist with general bookkeeping tasks and reporting for a small team.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online in a bookkeeping or accounting support role.
• Ability to manage records for multiple entities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of billing, accounts payable, and general bookkeeping practices.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle several tasks at the same time.
• Clear and friendly communication skills, including comfort interacting with customers.
• Ability to work permanent hours in an office setting as part of a small team.
• Dependable work style and the ability to adapt in an active processing business environment.

Compensation

$23.00-$26.00 Hourly
