Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Manage core accounting activities such as preparing journal entries, reviewing financial records, and maintaining accurate supporting schedules.
• Complete monthly account reconciliations and analyze balances to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end close by organizing data, resolving discrepancies, and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Review accounts payable activity, investigate exceptions, and coordinate follow-up to address transaction issues effectively.
• Research inventory-related transactions and prepare related reporting to improve visibility into operational and financial results.
• Track accruals and other financial data sets, then compile routine and ad hoc reports for management and departmental needs.
• Assist with audit preparation by testing records, documenting findings, and gathering requested support materials.
• Examine transactions, procedures, and workflow challenges that disrupt accounting processes, and help implement practical improvements.
• Document accounting procedures and provide cross-functional support within the department as priorities shift or new projects arise.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred
• 2 to 5 years of accounting experience in a general accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries, reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting practices.
• Experience working with inventory transactions, accounts payable processes, and issue resolution involving complex entries.
• Working familiarity with foreign exchange activity and related accounting considerations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills; experience with lookups and pivot tables is strongly preferred, and knowledge of Access is a plus.
• Understanding of internal controls and the ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and build strong working relationships.
Compensation
