Full Charge Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a contract assignment in Santa Barbara, California. This Contract to Permanent position is ideal for someone who can manage core accounting activities independently, maintain accurate records, and keep financial processes running smoothly. The role requires hands-on experience with bookkeeping functions, strong organization, and confidence working in QuickBooks within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full bookkeeping cycle, ensuring financial records are complete, current, and accurately maintained.

• Handle accounts payable activities, including reviewing invoices, entering payment details, and supporting timely disbursements.

• Manage accounts receivable tasks by preparing invoices, tracking incoming payments, and following up on outstanding balances.

• Process payroll with accuracy and attention to deadlines while maintaining proper supporting documentation.

• Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies to help preserve reliable financial reporting.

• Enter and update financial data in accounting systems with a high level of precision and consistency.

• Use QuickBooks to record transactions, maintain ledgers, and support routine accounting operations.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in a full charge bookkeeping or closely related accounting role.
• Practical experience using QuickBooks for daily bookkeeping and financial record management.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation procedures.
• Experience processing payroll accurately and in compliance with established timelines.
• Strong data entry skills with careful attention to accuracy and detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain organized financial records.
• Clear communication skills and a dependable, detail-focused approach to contract-based work.

Compensation

$27.71-$32.09 Hourly
