Inventory Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to support order fulfillment and inventory activities for a Contract position in Henrico, Virginia. This role focuses on processing order requests, gathering sample items, preparing shipments, and keeping inventory records accurate and up to date. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with computer-based order information, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring materials move efficiently through the warehouse process.

Responsibilities:
• Process incoming order requests from the computer system and prepare printed documentation for fulfillment.
• Select sample items and requested materials from the sample room with close attention to accuracy.
• Pack completed orders securely, label them appropriately, and stage them on carts for pickup at the front area.
• Receive raw and packaging materials and record all transactions accurately in the computerized inventory system.
• Move inventory between warehouse locations, complete related sales order activity, and prepare shipping paperwork for carriers.
• Coordinate trucking arrangements, notify receiving locations, and monitor delivery progress to help maintain on-time movement of goods.
• Communicate with suppliers to support timely deliveries and address follow-up needs as they arise.
• Investigate and document issues involving damaged goods, shortages, or rejected shipments and help drive resolution.

Qualifications:

• Experience with order picking and packing in a warehouse, stockroom, or distribution setting.
• Ability to read computer-generated order details and work from packing lists with accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail when handling inventory records, sample orders, and shipment preparation.
• Comfortable using computerized inventory or order entry systems to track materials and transactions.
• Ability to lift, move, and transport boxed items using carts throughout the work area.
• Good organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced fulfillment environment.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams.

Compensation

$17.10-$19.80 Hourly
