Routing Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Create and adjust delivery routes to improve efficiency, meet service timelines, and support daily transportation needs.
• Use Microsoft Excel and related systems to monitor shipment activity, analyze routing data, and prepare operational reports.
• Partner with drivers, dispatch, warehouse staff, and external contacts to keep loads moving according to schedule.
• Track freight throughout the transportation cycle and take quick action to address service disruptions, delays, or exceptions.
• Maintain organized records covering route details, shipment status, scheduling updates, and transportation-related costs.
• Communicate shipment priorities, operational changes, and service issues clearly with internal stakeholders and outside partners.
• Support compliance with transportation standards, company procedures, and customer service expectations across routing activities.
• Assist with billing, system updates, and logistics information management within business platforms such as ERP, CRM, or transportation software when needed.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in routing, transportation coordination, or logistics operations within a trucking, freight, or distribution environment.• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and shipment tracking data.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for working with cross-functional teams, carriers, and customers.
• Familiarity with logistics systems or business platforms such as Cargowise, CRM, ERP, or related operational software.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to respond quickly to delivery or routing issues.
• Knowledge of transportation processes, billing support, and customer service practices within a logistics environment.
• Understanding of customs or transportation compliance requirements is a plus.
Compensation
