Compensation: $90 to $120 Yearly

We are recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join a growing, technology-forward accounting and advisory firm in New York City. This position blends strong technical accounting capability with a technology-forward approach, allowing you to improve processes, oversee accurate financial data, and deliver clear reporting. The role offers meaningful exposure to growing businesses and requires sound judgment, strong client communication, and the ability to work independently while partnering across teams.


Responsibilities:

• Oversee complete accounting activities for multiple client accounts, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and financial records remain organized and audit-ready.

• Lead monthly close processes, including journal entries, general ledger review, reconciliations, and correction of historical accounting issues when needed.

• Manage core operational accounting tasks such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank account reconciliation across supported entities.

• Prepare and deliver monthly financial packages, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, with clear explanations for client stakeholders.

• Use accounting platforms and technology tools to improve efficiency, maintain quality, and support consistent service delivery across a growing portfolio.

• Partner with clients to address accounting questions, clarify financial results, and provide dependable day-to-day support.

• Share practical feedback with internal product and engineering teams to help refine workflows and enhance platform capabilities.

• Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes, improve reporting accuracy, and contribute to broader team objectives.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience performing full-cycle accounting in public accounting, outsourced accounting, or another fast-moving environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accrual-based accounting, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Microsoft Excel, and other common accounting systems.
• Ability to analyze financial data, solve accounting issues, and maintain close attention to detail.
• Strong communication, organization, and client service skills, with the ability to manage responsibilities independently.
• Interest in using emerging technology to improve accounting workflows and increase operational effectiveness.

Compensation

$90,000.00-$120,000.00 Yearly
