Cash Manager

We are looking for a Cash Manager to support a retail organization in Matthews, North Carolina through a Contract assignment. This position will oversee critical cash management activities, maintain accuracy across reconciliations and journal activity, and help resolve payment and customer account issues that affect day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate brings strong financial control experience, sound judgment in a high-volume environment, and the ability to work effectively with cash, tax, and payment-related processes.

Responsibilities:
• Direct daily cash management activities, including transaction monitoring, posting activity, and wire processing to ensure timely and accurate movement of funds.
• Lead reconciliation efforts across bank accounts, credit card activity, balance sheet accounts, and other cash-related records to maintain financial accuracy.
• Review and authorize a large volume of journal entries and cash postings while ensuring compliance with internal accounting standards.
• Oversee significant cash flow activity, including the clearing and tracking of high-value cash movements in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Administer sales and use tax calculations and support timely, accurate tax filings in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Act as the primary escalation resource for customer payment concerns, including reimbursement matters, point-of-sale transaction variances, tax charge questions, and authorization issues.
• Partner with internal teams to investigate discrepancies, resolve exceptions efficiently, and improve cash-related operational processes.
• Utilize Oracle and related financial systems to support reporting, reconciliation, and cash management workflows.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience managing cash operations, cash applications, cash posting, and payment activity in a high-volume business environment.
• Strong background in account reconciliation, including bank account and credit card reconciliations.
• Ability to review financial entries with accuracy and support reliable financial and management reporting.
• Experience handling complex cash movements and maintaining strong control over transactional accuracy.
• Knowledge of sales and use tax processes, including calculation and filing support.
• Ability to resolve escalated payment or customer account issues with professionalism and sound judgment.
• Proficiency with Oracle is strongly preferred.
• Retail industry experience is preferred.

Compensation

$47.50-$55.00 Hourly
