Medical Receptionist
We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to support a busy healthcare office in San Jose, California. This is a contract position suited for someone who is confident managing front-desk operations, welcoming patients, and keeping daily administrative tasks organized. The ideal candidate will create a positive first impression for patients and visitors while helping the office run smoothly through accurate scheduling, communication, and coordination.
Responsibilities:
• Welcome patients and visitors, guide them through arrival procedures, and ensure an efficient check-in experience.
• Register new and returning patients by collecting and updating demographic and appointment information accurately.
• Coordinate patient appointments, confirm schedules, and communicate important visit details in a timely manner.
• Manage incoming fax communications by organizing, routing, and distributing documents to the appropriate staff members.
• Handle day-to-day front office support, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and maintaining an orderly reception area.
• Deliver courteous and attentive service to patients, families, and visitors while addressing routine concerns effectively.
• Assist with administrative recordkeeping and other clerical tasks needed to support smooth clinic operations.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience working in a medical front office, reception, or similar patient-facing administrative role.• Ability to schedule appointments and manage patient flow with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with patient check-in procedures and registration processes in a healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Strong customer service and communication skills when interacting with patients, visitors, and clinical staff.
• Comfortable performing receptionist duties such as phone coverage, document handling, and general office support.
• Ability to stay organized, multitask effectively, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
