Accounting Specialist

Our client, a staple in the non-profit space, is in need for an Accounting Specialist to join their team on a contract basis! This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing a broad range of accounting tasks, collaborating with multiple internal teams, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role offers the opportunity to contribute across payables, receivables, payroll, and reconciliations while using QuickBooks Online in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage incoming invoices and outgoing payments while maintaining accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records.

• Review, reconcile, and track company credit card activity to ensure expenses are properly documented and recorded.

• Perform account balancing for concession-related transactions and coordinate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies.

• Process bi-monthly payroll with close attention to timing, accuracy, and supporting documentation.

• Complete bank reconciliations, prepare deposits, and help maintain reliable cash records.

• Prepare and enter journal entries to support monthly accounting activity and accurate financial reporting.

• Work across departments to gather financial details, answer transaction-related questions, and support smooth accounting operations.

• Maintain organized records in QuickBooks Online and help ensure financial data is current and audit-ready.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of accounting experience in a hands-on finance or bookkeeping role.

• Practical experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and general accounting functions.

• Strong background in account reconciliation, including bank and credit card reconciliations.

• Experience processing payroll on a recurring schedule with a high degree of accuracy.

• Proficiency using QuickBooks Online for daily accounting activities and financial record maintenance.

• Non-profit accounting experience is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
