Senior Application Architect

Our client is seeking a Senior Application Architect, Modernization & Delivery Enablement to lead the modernization of mission critical enterprise applications and play a key role in driving a major technology transformation.

This is a hands on architecture role for a proven technology leader with a strong software engineering background who has grown into architecture and has experience leading complex modernization, transformation, and cloud migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working at both the strategic and technical levels, guiding architecture decisions while staying closely involved in execution and delivery.

What You’ll Do

Lead enterprise application modernization and transformation initiatives.

Design scalable, secure solutions across on premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

Partner with business, technology teams, and vendors to define architecture and delivery plans.

Lead cloud migration initiatives, preferably in AWS environments.

Establish architecture standards, patterns, and technical guardrails.

Guide engineering teams through implementation and production delivery.

Mentor technical teams and provide technical leadership without direct people management.

Design solutions using microservices, APIs, event driven architecture, and distributed systems.

Support CI/CD, DevSecOps, automation, Docker, and Kubernetes/OpenShift.

Design for reliability, observability, performance, security, and compliance.

Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For

10+ years of experience in software engineering and application architecture.

3 to 4+ years as a Lead Application Architect on large scale modernization initiatives.

Proven experience leading enterprise transformation and application modernization.

Strong cloud and hybrid experience, preferably AWS, including cloud migrations.

Hands on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.

Strong experience with Vue.js or React, with Vue.js preferred.

Experience with mobile architecture.

Java and/or Node.js experience is a plus.

Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, security, and automation.

Deep knowledge of microservices, APIs, event driven architecture, and distributed systems.

Strong communication and leadership skills with experience working with vendors.

Financial services or regulated industry experience is preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s preferred.

Compensation

$175,000.00-$185,000.00 Yearly
